Why content matters.

I'm Kayleigh Kahlefeldt and I founded Cornerstone Content after realising that creating content is far more than the red thread weaving through my extensive marketing career. It's the exciting part! 


As I started my career in international PR and marketing communications agencies, I learned the power of the pitch and the true meaning of thought leadership. Articulating a thought-provoking concept well brings immeasurable results.  A creative, well-communicated idea that's memorable and repeatable builds  lasting bonds with your audiences at every stage of your relationship with them. That's why I called my business Cornerstone Content. Great ideas are the cornerstone for infinite marketing success.


As I moved into the world of content marketing some years ago, effectively communicating creative concepts became the foundation of how my team arrived at our goals. The means for attracting people to our blog, web pages, events time and again. This world is where I truly learned the power of combining the art of creative content with the science of SEO. 


As head of a regional marketing organisation I was careful not to underestimate the impact of content marketing.  On a limited budget its tempting to postpone any investment that doesn't generate a direct lead. As a result, lead generating programs get released with 'make do' content, poorly-conceived themes and substandard communications. Why invest heavily in marketing programs only to see them fail because you didn't invest resources in the content and assets that drive them? Why focus on the finite number of leads in your database at the expense of almost infinite connections beyond it?


I remain convinced of the incredible power of well-crafted, strategic content. When created in line with an integrated marketing strategy that lifts your brand and supports your goals, it works like magic.
